It is AquaEco's mission to facilitate aquaculture development through providing quality services in planning, technical guidance, impact assessments, statutory approvals and through this to ensure sustainability.

Business History

AquaEco was established in concept in 1999. The growth in aquaculture however allowed AquaEco to become an independent aquaculture company in 2001 and has become a recognized brand in the South African aquaculture sector.

Business Ownership

As Managing Director, E. Hinrichsen has been involved in aquaculture development since 1995; prior to which this was the focal point of his graduate studies at the University of Stellenbosch.
